Title: R&D Manager, Shanghai

Requirements:

  • Ph. D or Master Degree in chemistry qualifications (preferably electrochemistry, organometallics, corrosion chemistry)
  • Hands-on experience in electroplating industry. Formulation development expertise is highly desired.
  • Experience in electronics industry, particularly Connectors, passive components, IC / leadframe packaging, or semiconductor wafer level packaging, etc.
  • Proven project and people management skills
  • Familiar with New Product development (eg. stage gate process, DFSS).
  • Good communication skills (eg. interpersonal, language, etc)
  • Expect job will be based in Hong Kong with some travel required (~20%).
  • Excellent team player, with good command of English and Chinese

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Research, Development and Engineering team to develop new products for various industry segments, including electronic components (IC / leadframe, connector, passive), semiconductor (wafer level packaging - WLP), POP (plating on plastics), EMI, decorative plating, automotive plating and metal surface finishing and materials engineering.
  • Plan and execute experiments / evaluations in order to develop new products in accordance with product development protocols
  • Coordinate on scale-up trials of new products including pilot scale (alpha) testing and trials at customer sites (beta test). Provide technical support on new product commercialization.
  • Ensure protection of company’s products through submission of patents as appropriate. Collaborate with the Legal department and global product teams to ensure Right-to-Practice for new product development.
  • Understand customer needs and requirements and, where appropriate, foster relationships and partnerships with customers. Assist Sales and Customer Service Engineers with problem solving and customer support.
  • Provide key technical analyses of performance and costs to support the decision making process at appropriate Gate reviews.
  • Participate in the analysis of competitive intelligence to estimate cost and capability of competitor technologies.
  • Assist with general lab management, capital equipment planning and maintenance.
  • Actively participate in EHS program to ensure high standard of safety.

Title: Raw Materials Sourcing Manager, Shenzhen

Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree or above in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering;
    At least 5 years experience in a related role in the chemical industry; has sales experiences is a plus;
  • Has experience of people management;
  • Excellent command of English and Mandarin both written and oral will be a definite advantage;
  • Be capable of communication and inter-personal understanding;
  • High business ethics.

Responsibilities:

  • Bring the utmost competitiveness for raw materials ex China to the internal customer of Group Companies and business units worldwide. Manage an effective sourcing unit that develops and implements start-of the art sourcing strategies. Make sure that sourcing strategies are in line with the global GR sourcing strategy, lead buyer system and fully comply to defined EHS standards and sourcing processes.
  • Develop and define the sourcing part of the platform further, taking the global GR vision, mission, guidelines, strategic tools and systems into full consideration.
  • Coordinate with department manager, coach, train, develop and evaluate staff in order to build up and maintain adequate human resources for sourcing officers and operations.
  • Lead and guide the development of strategic sourcing projects, supplier selection and supplier management and negotiation process. Actively conduct supplier selection in line with global sourcing strategy and develop preferred "key" suppliers. Actively conduct negotiations in coordination with global lead buyer/global purchaser. Give guidance to team members in selection proper suppliers and help conduction supplier base management. Ensure that all aspects of the global lead buyer system and strategies are taken into account. Pay special attention to all EHS related criteria and coordinate closely with expert units and GR/AS.
  • Keep a constant dialogue with internal customers globally and with business units. Initiate and implement the quarterly sourcing report. Help to develop sourcing reporting further in e.g. developing business unit specific reports in close coordination with GR management. Guide and channel the dialogue for sourcing for merchandize in close coordination with department manager and GR management.
  • Build up fields of market expertise, research and monitor the upstream / procurement / downstream markets, understand cross dependencies, market trends, early warning indicators. Integrate this knowledge into the global Procurement Verbund.
  • Supervise, coach, train and develop staff to act according to the QM Directives and QM Manuals
  • Supervise, coach, train and develop staff to act according to the EHS and Responsible Care Concept applicable.
  • Implementation, execution and supervision of the Ethics Concept.
  • Ensure that sourcing operations, database maintenance and EHS concepts are fully complied by the team members in China and India. Coordinate need for action with department manager.
